JJ Crawford, Class of 2029, has been one of the standouts at this year’s Peach Jam.
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – The final day of pool play ended at Nike Peach Jam as the field went from 16 teams to eight teams after each team played five games. College coaches and NBA scouts have been getting eyes on some of the top talent in the country as they packed the five gyms at the Riverview Park Center.
Yesterday, it was Beckham Black and Cayden Daughtry who headlined the top performers from the first half of pool play. Daughtry is leading all players in scoring, averaging 36 points, and even broke the single-game scoring record when he posted 43 points in a triple overtime thriller.
Here are other top performers from the Nike Peach Jam as teams get ready to enter the playoffs.
JJ Crawford, Class of 2029
Crawford sat out the second game on Friday evening after dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in Istanbul during the U17 FIBA World Cup. He was the youngest player on that gold medal team and he’s playing up a division for the U16 NWR (North West Rotary). Crawford is coached by his dad, Jamal, and already has a mature game for being just 15 years old. He can get a shot off quickly, whether that’s off the dribble or catch-and-shoot, and he has elite ball-handling skills, particularly when reading ball screens and reacting to what the defense gives him.
Crawford is the No. 1 player in the incoming sophomore class according to ESPN and he played his high school season at Rainer Beach with the projected No. 1 player in the 2027 NBA Draft, Tyran Stokes. Crawford had 26 points (10-for-14 from the field, 6-for-9 from three) in a win over Nightrydas Elite and shot 53.3% from 3-point range on seven attempts per game during the regular EYBL season. He already has 24 Division I offers, including Duke, Arkansas, Kansas, Alabama, Michigan, Louisville and Tennessee.

Jack Kohnen, Class of 2027
Kohnen is on the same team as Hornets sharpshooter Kon Knueppel’s little brother, Kager, and he had the hot hand on Friday. In the first game against the PSA Cardinals he went off for 35 points (12-15 FG, 5-8 3P), five rebounds and two assists as Team Herro took the win easily 77-59 in the first game of the day. He followed that up a few hours later with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists in an 80-56 win over Kingdom Hoops.
The 6-foot-6 wing is already committed to Iowa State and chose the Cyclones over Iowa and Nebraska. Kohnen has a high release and he’s deadly as a catch-and-shoot threat. He’s averaging 16 points and six rebounds at Peach Jam as Team Herro went 4-1 in pool play.

Ahmad Hudson, Class of 2027
Hudson is a five-star recruit and one of the best athletes in high school, regardless of class. He’s the leading scorer for JL3 during Peach Jam, averaging 21.5 points, and had his best game Friday morning, when he put up 30 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, four assists and two blocks against the No. 1 incoming junior, AJ Williams, and coach CP3.
Hudson is committed to LSU, where he’ll play both football and basketball for the Tigers. He’s the No. 1-ranked tight end in the nation and the No. 19 overall player in the class, according to 247 Sports. Originally from Ruston, Louisiana, Hudson elected to stay home after being heavily recruited by Nebraska, Alabama and Arkansas.
Troy Fason Jr., Class of 2027
Fason was on the winning side of the triple overtime game when the NY Rens took down Daughtry and the Florida Rebels. He was just as effective getting to the rim and drawing fouls as Daughtry typically is and finished the game with 41 points (11-20 FG, 4-7 3P, 15-18 FT).
In what could end up going down as one of the best games in Peach Jam history, Fason had an answer for the Florida Rebels every time down the court and was instrumental in the second overtime and closing out the game, connecting on the winning layup with four seconds left and scoring 15 points in extra time. Fason is a 5-foot-11 point guard out of DME Academy in Dayton, Florida.
Braden Pettigrew, Class of 2028
Pettigrew is averaging 21.5 points and 5.3 rebounds for Brad Beal Elite’s U16 team and maybe the most impressive part of his game is how well he takes care of the ball, committing only 1.5 turnovers in 31.7 minutes of action. He’s a very consistent shooter from deep and has connected on 45.2% of his attempts from behind the arc.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Bollingbrook, IL, had a team high 26 points in a win over Team Melo. On Thursday he had the game-tying shot at the end of regulation and was fouled with no time left on the clock. In a high-pressure free throw situation, he hit the free throw to win the game against Jamal Crawford’s NWR squad. Pettigrew’s most recent offers are Michigan, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Villanova and Auburn.

Javion Tyndale, Class of 2027
Tyndale was the No. 1 option in the offense for UPlay Canada all tournament long and also during the regular EYBL season. He plays bigger than his listed 5-foot-9 size and held his own against Daughtry when they played Friday morning. It was a must-win game for both teams after the Florida Rebels lost to the NY Rens and UPlay Canada lost to the Utah Prospects.
Tyndale was incredible in the first half and had 19 of 23 points in the first 20 minutes. He finished with 23 points in the 4-point loss to the Florida Rebels. His quick first step is hard to guard and he finishes through contact well. Providence, West Virginia, UNLV and St. Bonaventure have all offered.
