Jesse Lingard's Corinthians salary revealed — and it's MUCH lower than what his ex-Man Utd team-mate Memphis Depay earns at the same club

Jesse Lingard's salary has reportedly been revealed following his sensational move to Brazil, which sees him reunite with former Manchester United team-mate Memphis Depay.

The 33-year-old had been a free agent since December after ending his two-season spell with South Korean side FC Seoul, where he scored 19 goals in 67 appearances. Despite global interest, the midfielder has now signed for São Paulo giants Corinthians.

Lingard’s new chapter in Brazil

Confirming his departure from Asia, Lingard stated that he and FC Seoul "mutually agreed" on his exit after discussions over a contract extension, calling his time in Asia "an unforgettable experience and one I will always value".

The former England international had been linked with several clubs recently — including West Ham, Burnley, Celtic, and Rangers — but has now completed a move to Corinthians, confirmed by the Brazilian club on March 6.

Staggering wage gap compared to Depay

While Lingard’s arrival is a high-profile signing for Corinthians, his financial terms are surprisingly modest compared to other stars at the club. According to R7 Esportes, the verbal agreement with the Englishman is worth €100k (£86k) per month.

The disparity is stark when compared to his friend and former United colleague Memphis Depay, who reportedly earns around €980k (£850k) per month — nearly ten times more than Lingard.

Old Trafford reunion in São Paulo

The move reunites Lingard with Depay, with whom he played 31 times during the 2015–16 season at Manchester United. The pair have remained close friends since.

Depay has become a key figure at Corinthians since joining from Atlético Madrid in 2024, scoring 19 goals in 73 appearances and netting the winner in the Copa do Brasil final against Vasco da Gama.

Corinthians have been actively adding European experience to their squad. Alongside Depay, Lingard will join a dressing room that includes former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista and ex-Watford winger André Carrillo.

Contract details and future goals

Lingard is reported to have signed a contract until December, with an option to extend automatically if certain performance milestones are met during his time in Brazil.

The move followed stalled talks with fellow Brazilian side Remo, allowing Corinthians to secure his signature.
